The project remit was to remove the existing hedge (at 15ft wide and 17ft high, it was too costly to maintain) and replace with a completely new hedge.

Here the hedge is being cut to the ground and the roots being dug out with a mini digger. Such a shame for a beautiful hedge, but at 15ft wide and 17ft high, it was too costly to maintain.

Here the hedge had been cut, we began to remove the roots.

Here we can see the hedge completely gone and levelled ready for the rabbit proof fencing to go in.

A trench was then dug and the fencing put in place. The fence goes under ground to prevent rabbits from digging under it.

Here the hedge was being planted, we had a lot of rain so it tuned into a bit of a mud bath.

And here the hedge is finished. A fine topsoil was graded out from the hedge to allow seeding in the future and to allow for any sinking after all the digging.
